Here are some free videos about doll-making, intuitive painting techniques and related events. I will be adding more videos as I come up with them. Thanks for visiting! And please, if you are inspired to make a doll or some intuitive paintings, let me know what you made! I would love to see it!
Video for: WISEWOMAN FORUM: Befriending the Shadow: Flip Dolls as a Tool for Shadow Work: A Workshop with Erika Cleveland
Here is a recording of my talk on Befriending the shadow. Only the talk, the guided meditation and a description of the doll-making task is included in the video.
Some background:
The flip doll -- a two-sided doll that is connected at the waist -- has a long history, starting with the Civil War era in the American South. In this presentation, you will learn some of that history and discover how flip dolls have evolved over time to become storytelling vehicles. You will learn how flip dolls, in their dual nature, are uniquely suited to explore universal themes such as shadow and light, good and evil, above and below, seen and unseen. I share some of the flip-dolls that I have created as examples of this kind of inner exploration. Then, I lead a short guided meditation in which each person will encounter her/his own shadow and inner guide.
