ONLINE OFFER:
An Invitation to Celebrate Yourself in a Special Way and to Welcome in the New Year:

Imbolc is a Celtic Holiday that occurs on either February 1st or 2nd. Imbolc celebrates that time in mid-winter when the shift from darkness to light just begins to make itself known. Symbolically, at this time of year, the dark crone of winter, Cailleagh, makes room for the spring maiden, Brigit, goddess of fertility and creativity. Associated with this holiday is rebirth and rejuvenation. The fairies of the earth are busy at this time whispering encouragement to the buds of flowers and trees to begin to poke out their heads. Imbolc literally means "in the belly" and is also connected to a time in history, when people lived close to the land, where the birth of baby lambs were a tangible sign of the beginnings of spring.

For you, Imbolc can be a time to turn into a place of deep rest and connectedness. It is a time to tend to your inner garden as it is just beginning to sprout and as a new year begins to unfold. Or it can be a time of much needed rest and tending to the clearing out of any weeds and brambles that might be in the way of your inner garden's healthy growth.

What: A celebration of Imbolc, a time of year that allows deep internal exploration and attunement to what might be emerging as a focus for your new year.
Where: Two meetings on Zoom, first on the actual day of Imbolc and second, a week later
When: Tuesday, February 1, 2022, 6 to 7:30 PM EST and Tuesday February 8, 2022, 6-7:30 PM EST
How: We will celebrate the holiday on the day, tuning inward with activities such as a guided meditation, lighting of candles and other ways of acknowledging this sacred time of year. You will have the opportunity to make altars to commemorate this experience and to embody whatever from within most needs expression at this time. We will meet once more at the end of the week to celebrate and share our altars and to discuss what has emerged during this time of rest and rejuvenation.

Frequently Asked Questions:
  • Is Imbolc a religious holiday?  I don't celebrate Imbolc and have never heard of it. That's perfectly OK. The holiday is a touch point as a way to tune into our connection to our deeper selves and to nature, rather than a religious celebration. I would love to hear about different ways of celebrating this mid-winter time if you know of others. This is meant to be inclusive.
  • I'm not an artist and I want to make an altar. Do I have to know how to paint and sew? You don't need to know how to paint and sew. Detailed instructions will be given for both the paper and cloth altar both in video and cloth form. The cloth altar depicted here does require a some knowledge of sewing techniques but you will also be given suggestions of simpler ways of stitching and sewing. This is more about process rather than perfection.
  • What if I don't have access to a lot of sewing and art materials? Can I still make an altar and participate? Yes, absolutely. I have tried to make it possible to find most of the materials around your house or adapt what you have. But please do ask if you need assistance and would like to try to find some of the supplies mentioned on the list.
  • Do I have to make an altar? You don't have to. All the suggestions are here to help deepen your experience but there are other ways of taking part in this experience.
  • Can I bring a friend? By all means. The offering is open to up to twelve participants, though not everyone will necessarily want to participate in the Zoom events.
  • What if one or both of those dates don't work for me? That's Ok. I would recommend that you attend the gatherings if you can. But you can also celebrate by following along with the videos, prompts and activities during the week. The gatherings will not be videotaped however as they are meant to be intimate and of the moment.
  • When does sign up end? The last day for early bird sign up is Thursday, January 27 and the last day to sign up is Monday, January 30th. The first gathering is on Tuesday, February 1st.
  • How do I pay for the course? Click on the button below "click here to join." (once sign up begins) You will be taken to a page where you can sign up using your credit card. See below for more details about sign up.
  • What if I don't have a Zoom account? If you don't have a Zoom account, you will still be able to follow the Zoom link and attend the gatherings. You can email me if you need help.
  • Can I get a refund if I change my mind after signing up? Unfortunately, no. Because this is a digital offering and there is no way to return the material once you have signed up, I am not able to offer a refund.

More Details:
Once you sign up below, you will be taken to a link that includes a materials list, written and video versions of instructions on how to make a paper and cloth altar for Imbolc. You will also receive prompts and musings about ways to make your celebration of Imbolc meaningful and relevant to your specific needs.
Just before the first gathering, you will receive a Zoom link to the two meetings as well as details about what you can bring to these sessions to make them more meaningful.
During the week of February 1st to the 8th, you will receive several email prompts encouraging you to deepen your experience of this time of year.
Sign up will close after twelve participants and/or by January 30th, in order to keep it intimate and to allow for spacious and restful participation.
NOTE: There are no refunds once you have signed up for an e-course. I am a one woman show, doing my best to create a small group, intimate and nourishing experience for you. Thus I am unable to offer refunds.
